The necklace includes Phoenecian to Early Islamic era glass beads c. 2000 bce to 1100 ce. The gold elements are repurposed 1st century bce - 3rd century ce high karat gold Roman earrings. The authentic beads and single earrings were sourced by the artist over more than a decade in the context of his business life and collecting life. Sources would include, Chicago and East Coast auction houses, numerous private collections and other antique specialists. The included items have been in circulation as collected objects for hundreds of years during the Grand Tour.
