Museum of Arts & Design (NYC) Acquires two works by David Bielander for the permanent collection
Two works by the Swiss born artist David Bielander are now part of the prestigious Museum of Arts & Design's permanent collection!
The Crown necklace from Bielander's Cardboard series- a trompe l'oeil play on value and hierarchies, wherein gold has been formed and manipulated into works perfectly mimicking corrugated cardboard, was chosen for acquisition and is currently exhibited in the exhibition MAD Collects.
The Cardboard Crown, which debuted in Bielander's 2015 exhibition DIY at Ornamentum, is number 3 of a very limited edition of up to only 5 (+1 AP) hand-made works. Examples have recently been exhibited in Museum exhibitions in Switzerland, Italy and Denmark.
